Hail, Caesar! — A funny and slightly goofy caricature — 8*/10

• Story: Very involved, full of details, funny, and interesting.
• Style: Caricatural. A mix of what the public was perceiving at the time and what we think of that time now, all exaggerated and slightly goofy.
• Pacing: Never boring, it keeps rolling and rolling and rolling, throwing at us stars after stars.
• Ending: Nicely done.
• Dialogs: Funny, even hilarious at times. Mostly second and third degree.
• Characters: Well built, with a nice range, nothing archetypal, but a lot of surprises and easy to understand.
• Acting: Great.
• Known actors: Josh Brolin, George Clooney, Scarlett Johansson, Tilda Swinton, Frances McDormand, Channing Tatum, Ralph Fiennes, Jonah Hill, David Krumholtz, Clancy Brown, Natasha Bassett, Wayne Knight, Jeff Lewis and Christopher Lambert.
• Visuals: Very nice.
• Special Effects: Somewhat substandard, but there's very few of them, so you can easily ignore this.

• Who is it for? Difficult to say. Those looking for a goofy yet intellectual kind of comedy with second degree funny dialogs. The setting and the humor is not for everyone.

Zoolander 2 — Ridiculously silly comedy for the fans — 6*/10

• Story: Interesting with an intrigue that wasn't haft bad. While a lot of fun, the main problem of this new chapter is that it tried to do too much while being a sequel. The story ended up being stretched very thin. That being said, it's just as silly as its predecessor, which I still watch on a regular basis (read my review here).
• Style: Totally off the wall ridiculous to maximize laughter. It works, but at times, it's a bit much, even compared to the original.
• Ending: Could have been easily better.
• Acting: Well done, in a silly way.
• Known actors: Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Penélope Cruz, Kristen Wiig, Will Ferrell, Sting, Benedict Cumberbatch, Fred Armisen, Christine Taylor, Milla Jovovich, Jerry Stiller and John Malkovich.

• Who is it for? Mainly Zoolander fans or those looking for something really silly as well as Stiller, Wilson or Ferrell fans.

I think this is the kind of flick that's better when you watch it a second time. I laughed my ass off a few time, but I think it needs to sink in to then really appreciate it. The original was better in great part because of the novelty. However, even with the first one, it took a second look for me to really get into it.

Starsky & Hutch — A decent and pretty funny little movie — 6*/10

A nice parody of the TV series. Don't expect too much of it and you'll be happy.

Cast includes Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Snoop Dogg, Amy Smart, Carmen Electra, Juliette Lewis, Vince Vaughn, Fred Williamson, Will Ferrell, Jason Bateman, Terry Crews and Chris Penn.

Spy — A spy action comedy that delivers on the goods — 8*/10

• Scenario: This is an obvious parody of spy movies, more specifically James Bond, but other super-spy flick also. Fortunately, it doesn't turn into a stupid joke fest and walks quite well the difficult line between serious but subtly funny and silly in a straight face kind of way. Even being a comedy, it still deliver solid action and an interesting story, giving us a high entertainment value film.
• Dialogs: Solid, fast-fire exchanges.
• Characters: Very interesting, not too complicated. The main character also has a nice depth to it, and, to a lesser extent, so does its nemesis.
• Actors: Melissa McCarthy and Rose Byrne are a great duo, the true hilarity really only starts when their characters meet. Jason Statham is a surprising parody of his usual role and turns out quite funny. Cast members also include Morena Baccarin and Jude Law.
• Photography: Very nice.
• Sound: Very nice music and score, again a parody of Bond movies.
• Special effects: Solid.

A Million Ways to Die in the West - Very light entertainment for a slow night - 6*/10

A Million Ways to Die in the West is just silly and totally anachronistic. The trailer gives a good idea of what the movie will be like. Don't expect greatness. Turn your brain off and watch.

For those who don't need a comedy to make sense.

The Princess Bride is a classic of comedic fantasy. It's witty, nicely paced with a very interesting story. Beyond the rats and eels, it has aged well. The key point is not to take it seriously and just enjoy the silliness.

21 Jump Street - Kick ass fun all around, very surprisingly - 8*/10

21 Jump Street is great mix of parody, action, and teen absurdity. I think Channing Tatum really shines as a comedic actor because he's the kind of person everybody sees in a serious light, yet he doesn't take himself seriously. Difficult to imagine a better partner for such an amount of silliness than Jonah Hill. The result is surprisingly good, especially since nothing is taken seriously.

Machete - Great style and violent action - 6*/10

Machete by Robert Rodriguez rides the edge between parody of and homage to B/exploitation movies. Only by laughing a bit about them can you truly praise them, because what people loved about them was the fact that they didn't necessarily try to make perfect films, but really wanted to entertain us by appealing to our baser interests.

For those who love B/exploitation flicks or the style of Robert Rodriguez.

Galaxy Quest — A lot of sci-fi fun for the whole family — 7*/10

Galaxy Quest is science-fiction movie wrapped in a parody of the Star Trek TV series phenomenon. The comedic appeal of this film is without doubt, but if you know what a Star Trek convention can be like and all it entails, it's doubly hilarious. This piece makes fun of the fans, the actors, all the paraphernalia surrounding them, as well as those milking it for all its worth.

That being said, it's only half of what you're going to see, because you'll have a true sci-fi flick on your hands, with special effects, space ships, exotic planets, scary aliens and creatures.

It might not have a very complicated story, but really it's a character movie, and based on that, it's quite a success. Tim Allen was made for this role, it fits him like a glove, and you can see that Sigourney Weaver is having a blast playing a role that is so unusual for her.

See this movie, and entertainment and laughter will fill your evening.
