La Vénus à la fourrure — Puissant film qui mérite toute notre attention — 9*/10

Un chef d'oeuvre captivant de Roman Polanski. Verve, passion,  découverte, mystère... Rien n'y manque, pourtant que deux seuls acteurs. Un cours de psychologie à ne pas manquer qui nous fait passer du simple ridicule amusant au bas fond de l'avilissant.

Deadpool — Fucking hilarious hero flick and powerful entertainment — 8*/10

• Story: A straight forward origin story with tons of wink to the hero genre. Lots of action and humour. I loved the rough rider romance until they got the bad news. Then, it changed too abruptly for my taste. More over, his investigation is just a series of repetition, although the change of costume is interesting. That being said, what's not to love about the rest?
• Style: Achronological with a humorous self-satirical narration by the main onscreen character directed straight at the viewer breaking the usual barrier between a movie and its audience. You gotta like the style, but even if you don't, it's funny as hell.
• Pacing: Fast with a few breaks that are still intense.
• Ending: Predictable, but the jokes helped.
• Dialogs: Extremely funny and very witty. Totally perfect.
• Characters: Simple, even as super heroes go.
• Acting: Great performance by the main characters. The others... meh.
• Known actors: Ryan Reynolds (excellent as the witty Deadpool), Morena Baccarin (she's just awesome!) and T.J. Miller.
• Special Effects: Not perfect, but still great.
• Music: Excellent choices, usually very funny ones.
• Score: Awesome, you're right in the action.

The Scribbler — Not your average psycho movie, a must try for explorers — 8*/10

• Story: Very interesting with lots of novel concepts or at least novel twists on old ones.
• Characters: Nicely built. Some are simple and don't need much more, while the main ones well fleshed out.
• Dialogs: Love them, except of the psychiatric talk and the final speech who is a bit too "final philosophical monolog" for my taste. We could have live with a shorter version or none at all.
• Scenario: Overall, it's great. However, there are a few flaws, mostly related to multiple personality disorder and the psychiatric hospital. They can be overlooked, and if you can, the result is a great entertaining flick.
• Actors: Solid work on the part of everyone, except the male cop and the male assistant psychiatrist who were barely believable. Cast members include Katie Cassidy, Michelle Trachtenberg and Eliza Dushku.
• Photography: Very nicely done.
• Sound: Great music and score to plunge you in this dark tale.
• Special effects: Acceptable, sometimes even good, except for the crap they're trying to pass as the burn machine and the light in the eyes.

• Who is it for? Those who want a great novel story and a nice intrigue, but don't mind if some parts of the movie are below minimum standard.

Bram Stoker's Dracula — The original story is still one of the best — 9*/10

• Story: The amazing director Francis Ford Coppola tried to stay close to Bram Stoker's original dark romance story that gave birth to Dracula, and the onscreen result is quite gripping. 
• Characters: Well done. The primary characters are strong, the secondary ones seem to have been done in a slightly caricatural manner, in an homage to the long line of Dracula movies, I think.
• Dialogs: Very novelistic.
• Scenario: Excellent. A great pace that keeps us riveted and our adrenaline up. It's full of action, romance and eroticism.
• Actors: I don't really like Gary Oldman in this role even if he did a good job, and I think that Keanu Reeves didn't serve us as good a performance as he could have, but the rest did very well. Cast members include Winona Ryder, Anthony Hopkins, Richard E. Grant, Tom Waits, and Monica Bellucci.
• Photography: Good.
• Sound: Great music and score. Entrancing.
• Special effects: Some purposefully chosen special effects give the production an old feel to it, like the miniatures and the very dark sets, an other sort of homage to its predecessors, I think. With those effects are mixed what used to be state of the art and are now aging, like the mists. The result is still quite enjoyable if you're looking at it from the right point of view.

• Who is it for? Anyone looking for a dark tale or doomed ancient romance and, of course, vampire aficionados.

Kiss of the Damned — Chilling psychological vampire film with a few novelties — 9*/10

• Story: Chilling, dark and somber. Very psychological with a slow development, a number of surprises and a few new looks on the genre. Love the end.
• Characters: Interesting and well made, except for the writer whom we'd wish a be more development, his story is too simple. In other cases, great depth and inner conflicts or ruthless intelligence with an edge of subtle madness.
• Dialogs: Very interesting. Perfect for the genre.
• Scenario: Well built with an incredible pace for such a short movie. The few very sexy scenes are just lovely. My favorite scene is the philosophical discussion between vampires, just perfect and very representative of the movie.
• Actors: Great work on the part of everyone. Cast members include Michael Rapaport and Milo Ventimiglia.
• Photography: Nice.
• Sound: Good music and excellent dark dissonant score that reminds me a bit of The Shining giving you chills without even trying.
• Special effects: Acceptable.

• Who is it for? It's for everyone who don't mind blood or a slow development. Of course, vampire lovers should definitively watch.

Fifty Shades of Grey — Not as bad as most critic would have you believe — 6*/10

• Story: Rather simple. Intro somewhat brusque. Interesting development. Perfect ending.
• Characters: Acceptable, but we don't get to know them a lot, it's too short for that.
• Dialogs: Piteous. They work for a book, but not a movie.
• Scenario: Nicely paced, but there's not enough material to get anywhere.
• Actors: Acceptable work. The only notable cast member is Marcia Gay Harden.
• Photography: Very pleasing to the eye. Rich, and understandably so.
• Sound: Great music, well scored soundtrack, but the ambient sounds were somewhat weirdly chosen, like some forest bird noise right downtown?
• Special effects: None.

• Who is it for? Those looking for spicy erotic without having too much expectation. Think Harlequin in BDSM format.

There's been a competition on who's review would trash this little flick the most. I'm not sure why, but it's not that bad. Don't get me wrong, it's not a masterpiece, far from it, but it's nice entertainment. Contrary to complaints I heard, you might not see him as naked as her or as often, but you do see him well. Also, there might have been some better choice for Grey in Hollywood, but he's not bad looking.

Men, Women & Children — A modern portrait that will make a lasting impression — 10*/10

Men, Women & Children is a fast changing movie. It moves between sexy, quiet, dramatic, and even comedic at time with almost seamless fluidity. It is incredibly touching, realistic and modern. It presents to us the connected lives that most people live nowadays. We are not all like this — I'm not at least — but this is a good portrait of where we are. Excellent acting, riveting story, perfect scenario, and more...

Friends with Benefits will make you laugh, even if the humor is on the easy side, the characters aren't and are surprisingly well built considering that they're a bit shallow. The scenario juggles a number of unorthodox ideas which makes it very interesting.  However, it uses an old trick to hinge the story on which in turns depreciate the production slightly. The end, though, is better, and leaves us on a more agreeable note.

Elektra Luxx — Very light entertainment, but still appreciable — 6*/10

Elektra Luxx is about sex and hot women, and set just after Women in Trouble (WIT), but not as interesting.

The good. An interesting, if not captivating, story. Beautiful women. Lots of things happening. Some laughs, a bit of drama, and sexiness.

The actors. Carla Gugino gives us a good performance as Elektra. I wonder if it's the limit of her acting capabilities. Adrianne Palicki is hilarious as the challenged beauty, while Emmanuelle Chriqui completes her admirably. And finally, Joseph Gordon-Levitt is just right as the obsessed blogger.

The bad. Using an actor for two different role. Not as good as WIT, and still portraying a career in the sex industry as something base.

The ugly. That bath scene with the virgin Mary. Badly shot and edited, with horrible sound take, and it doesn't even bring that much to the story.

The result. Nice entertainment, especially if you want to find out what happens after WIT. More geared toward men, even if it still empowers women.

Cruel Intentions is the perfect romantic drama. This fruit did not fall far from the Romeo & Juliet tree. Romance, love, plots, and drama are all turned modern and splendidly rendered. Add to that a great soundtrack, beautiful shots, tension, hot eroticism, sex, and you get the perfect mix for that type of flick.

All the actors are playing their best game, without exception. The story line is gripping, interesting, and it delivers without fail. The twists are numerous, non-repetitive, and scandalous.

This movie showed everybody that Sarah Michelle Gallar could play anything, because this role is as far from the vampire slayer as you can get.

A must see.

The Housemaid (original title: Hanyo) will present to you a young woman trying to take her destiny into her own hands. She lets her desire run free and the result is a very hot sex scene.

The scenario is nothing new, but the plot is interesting is not always obvious. The intrigue of that high class family is very interesting.

The house is gorgeous, the setting push, and the actors beautiful for the most part.

If you're in the mood for a asian subtitled drama about the a rich family and its secret with a dark humorless story and a steamy undertone of sex, you should watch it.

X: Night of Vengeance — A really bad night in an escort's life — 8*/10

X (Night of Vengeance) will get you blood pumping. All along the ride you will want the two girls to get out of it clean, but trouble will hound them mercilessly.

It's gritty, it's dirty, it's sexy, it's not what you want to happen when on the job. You get to see the two very different sides of a single coin. You'll enjoy, because you'll get to understand some things, and imagine many others. It will grip you and it won't let you go until it is finished with you.

A few things are off with this movie. Sometimes, you want a tighter scenario, editing, a more experienced camera work, or more fine tuning on the dialogs, but it's easily forgivable.

Watch it only if you're ready for suspense and a good dose of the underground.

About Cherry — A sweet little movie about a sweet little girl and porn — 9*/10

About Cherry pulls every punches to make sure you can see Cherry's sweet side. Reality is there, you can see it clear as day, but the story is all about her innocent nature. The bad things are presented, but not dwelled upon. You get to know her and by the end you just wish to get to know her more, that's how sweet she is.

The camera moves are well chosen, the point of views and focus done just right. The scoring is just as sweet as the main actress and all the characters are well played. The scenario is a great balance in time and subjects, presenting you a lot of tidbits, in a concise manner that you can easily ingest.

It's almost perfect. The only reproach I can make is that it is so sweet, it has no punch. I must admit, I didn't care that it didn't. I will watch it again many times, that is a guaranty.

Easily listening. I highly recommend it to the naughty one waiting for a candy inside of you.

Chloe. Loved it, except for the fact that the escort in it has a broken personality. It's another bad notch in the public image of the profession, but of course, you need something to get the story going, so I'm not holding it against the screen writers. Excellent acting. Only flaw is the son's character, especially his final meddling which lessens the strength of the ending.

Realistic couple.
The main sex scene is hot, loved it.
Great suspense without being heavy, it's more of an intrigue.
Julianne Moore is perfect.
